DC charging stations differ from AC ones in how they deliver power.
AC Charging: Supplies alternating current (AC) to a converter onboard the vehicle, which then transforms it to direct current (DC) for the battery.
DC Charging: Converts AC to DC before it reaches the vehicle, allowing direct delivery of DC power to the battery.
This off-board conversion enables DC chargers to provide up to 350 kW, significantly reducing charging times to around 15 minutes. Ideal for quick stops, fleet vehicles, and various electric vehicles, DC fast chargers offer rapid power delivery for both passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

In Europe and North America, DC fast charging commonly uses:
CCS (Combined Charging System): Supports both AC and DC.
CHAdeMO: Separate port, limited to lower power.
